Episode 6: March of the Penguins- Argentina Cont'd

( My attempt at a Fine Art Image)
We headed to Buenos Aires, and experienced the euro style city with the latin flair. When I was little I had a bit of an obsession with Evita aka Eva Peron, so seeing Casa Rosada, as well as her mausoleum with the inscription "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" on it pretty much made my BA experience. We didn't have a lot of time or money to spend in Buenos Aires but someday I would love to go back.

We caught a flight to Trelew ( because it was the only flight heading towards the south that was available) with hopes that we would find our way to Patagonia from their somehow. When we arrived we found out that the largest Magellenic Penguin Colony outside of Antarctica was only an hour away. It was an amazing sight. Hundreds of thousands of Penguins surrounding you and waddling across your path. We ended up falling into a little valley full of immigrants from Wales and went for a spot of tea at a traditional welsh tea house. All in all it was a fun little side trip before the over night bus to Patagonia
Enjoy the film

Pre Wedding Editorial Photos

A new fad in the fashion photography industry is to take gritty photos of the models putting on their makeup, wearing the robes, and getting dressed. I really loved the results of these fashionista photos and wanted to apply this editorial style to some pre wedding shots I did for a my friend Jillian. It;s always fun being with the bride in the morning as she goes from nervous, to giddy, to emotional, to excited and back again. Documenting those moments are so different from the rest of the day and a lot of fun, allowing you to take the time to really capture the moments in a photojournalistic way.
Hope you enjoy them

2 years and counting!

Last week Kel and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary. We have a pact where each year we alternate. One of us plans a day of fun, and the other buys a gift. This was my year to plan, so I took Kelly rock climbing in Squamish. I think I found my new favorite hobby. We took a day long course in top anchoring, and learnt all of the safety requirements. Afterwards we drove to Whistler got gussied up and went out on the town. I think I planned a perfect day if I do say so myself, but Kel still trumped me with an even better gift. A boxweiler puppy who we named Cuzco. Here are a few pics from from the mini adventure and of the latest inhabitant of our home.
Ciao

Episode5: Gone Fishing - Argentina Cont'd

We started our journey south to the end of the earth through San Ignacio Mini, and Ibera.
Jesuit Ruins, Kayaking in Anaconda infested waters ( Our guide said that they have a tendancy to eat whole cows off of the shore) , 4x4 ing/ hitchiking to an estuary full of cayman, capyabaras (ROUS'S i love the princess bride) and Piranahas. Getting to these areas was a bit ridiculous but worth the ridiculous trip and the sleep on the ground (picnic bench if your jaie).
