Kisses and Disses - First Edition

This weekend marks the second time since I have been married that I have been away from kel. You would think it would get easier with time but I believe it is actually harder since you have gotten used to having that person around all the time. To keep my mind occupied I have been working and perusing the internet for interesting new ideas. I happened across a photographers blog I am new to following and fell in love with one of her ideas. Kisses & Disses. Every week she lists the things that she discovered or made her happy and the things that didn't have a great effect. I have been thinking about doing something like this for awhile but I didn't want to do a things I love day etc.. because many of my other blogger friends already have those. So I give you the Canadian edition of Kisses & Disses.....

This weeks Disses go too..
* Husbands being out of town
* Surviving on canned soup and tea due to said husband leaving me with no vehicle.
* Dengue Fever. It is pure evil

This weeks kisses go too....
* Autumn photoshoots
*Dr.House keeping me entertained
*Jasmine Star of O.C for all her bright ideas www.jasminestarblog.com

R+M+J= Autumn Fun

I love a fall day! Especially when I have a beautiful family, my camera, goldfish, pumpkins, and apples. We have been trying to get together to do this family shoot for awhile and I think our patience paid off.

I love color ( which I don't think is a surprise to anyone) and this shoot took color to a whole new level for me. Thanks for playing along guys and being such a cute family.

Organizing

It feel's so good at the end of the week to have the things even slightly organized. This week I have been neglecting my blog because we have been really busy with company matters. Soon though I should have lots of new posts up since there are lots of different photo shoots coming up in the next 2 weeks. While organizing my computer I came across a few other photos that I thought would be fun to share...

I had seen the idea for a flow board before, and I thought it would be perfect for keeping my projects organized. Kelly made me this, because there is no way I would be able to draw straight lines with a permanent marker. I did however watch him while he did it and gasp every time I thought he was going to make a mistake. I love it though.

Last but not least I thought I would share a band I have been listening to for awhile that I am really starting to like. Reverie Sound Review.
Have a good weekend everybody!

Them Backpackers

I am sure some of you have been wondering about the button to nowhere on my blog that says "Them Backpackers". This button is soon going to be a link to a new site. My husband and I are starting a travel company by that name. Quite a few of you know that Kelly and I are planning on driving to Nicaragua in our Jeep to do self supporting missionary work.

Since we want to be involved in that work full time we have been racking our brains for a way to support ourselves in another country. So we decided to do a webseries/ travel blog all about our adventures on our way down there and for years to come. The beauty of it is, if we get support then we can use advertisers on our blog, which will help support us while we are in Nicaragua. If we work hard at this then we will be able to stay and help in Nicaragua longer.

So stay tuned, we are hoping for the site to go live in November. In the meantime here is a little promo we put together. The footage is not nearly in as good of quality as the new webisodes will be, but I hope you enjoy it all the same.

Make sure you set this video from 360 -720p

New Seasons Mark New Beginnings

Traditionally most people think of January as being the beginning of a new year. For me September always feels that way. When you wake up in September you can tell it is officially fall.It makes you want to buy school supplies and to get a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils. (I love that movie).

I live on the praries and the leaves have already started to spin new colors of golds, reds, and browns. Apparently this is early even for here.I do love September. I love the clothes, the smell, the fact that it is not dull and cold yet but still can have a few days that have some lingering feelings of summer.According to those charts you used to see in home economics my coloring makes me a fall, I always found that hard to understand.

With the beginning of a new school year, and a new voluntary work year there comes new plans. I have been thinking about all of the things that are coming up and it is actually almost overwhelming...

- My 1 year anniversary
- Beginning full time volunteer work again
- Start of our new online travel company/blog (Info Coming Soon)
-Family Reunion
- Weddings
- New Babies
- Family Shoots
- Engagement Shoots
-Leaving the country to start doing self supporting missionary work in Nicaragua
All of these things are coming up much faster then I anticipated.

So enjoy the fall and I will hopefully have some great fall posts soon because it is my favorite time to take pictures.
